Relationship Issues

For the relief of distress in a tranquil and understanding atmosphere.

Relationships can provide us with love, understanding, and support, but they can also be a source of unhappiness and uncertainty where conflicts and differences arise. It is important to maintain healthy relationships through open communication and respect for the other person and talking therapy provides a safe therapeutic space in which to examine the problems and also the expectations you may have about your relationship.

The relationships and connections we make with family and friends affect how secure, happy and fulfilled we feel with our lives. Most relationships have problems from time to time which if not addressed can lead to depression, anxiety, general neurosis and often anger. These feelings can negatively affect our work, causing difficulties in coping and can cause deeply painful feelings of rejection, humiliation, anger and loneliness.

Counselling can be very helpful in exploring the root causes behind why relationships aren’t working. Your counsellor will help you notice the themes and patterns of behaviour in your relationship. Childhood issues can be looked at too as they inform how we relate to each other as adults, issues can dove-tail together negatively and if made conscious, the relationship can be transformed.

Counselling can also help you if you are going through a break-up, divorce, affairs, jealousy, commitment issues, intimacy issues, power struggles, abuse, or are unable to communicate with each other.
